United Healthcare Individual ACA Plans State Availability

United Healthcare offers individual ACA health insurance plans in 23 states currently. For 2025 they will expand into four more states for a total of 27 states. On exchange plans are offered on the Federal Marketplace and the state exchanges in states with their own exchange.

United Healthcare offers several different individual ACA plan types. Take a look at these descriptions and decide what sounds most like you.

Essential
Rarely see the doctor? This plan may be for you. You’ll be covered for preventive care and serious situations yet pay only a relatively low monthly premium. When you do get care, you’ll pay more compared to our other plans. Essential plans are available in the Bronze metal level.

Value

Find a low-cost plan that helps protect your health and your budget. Choose from options that may include low copays for primary care visits, a health savings account (HSA) or extra benefits like adult dental and vision care. Value plans are available in all metal levels.

Advantage

Get lower copays for every provider visit when you pay a little more each month. Plus, add on adult dental and vision coverage to some plans. It’s a good fit if you prefer more coverage so you can see your doctor more often. Advantage plans are available in the Silver and Gold metal levels.

Copay Focus

Know and plan for your costs before you go to the doctor. With predictable copays and a $0 medical deductible, you’ll know what you’re paying before every visit so you can budget better for you and your family. Copay focus plans are available in all metal levels.

United Healthcare offers small group health insurance plans in most states. They offer traditional fully insured plans and the opportunity to partially self-fund with a Level Funded plan.
