Allstate Health Solutions Short Term Medical
IMPORTANT UPDATE: Effective September 1, 2024 the Biden administration finalized a rule to limit the term of Short Term Medical plans to a maximum of 4 months per person per insurance company per year.
The Trump administration is working to reverse the Biden rule. Stay tuned for updates on this.
The information below is based on rules prior to September 1, 2024.
Allstate Health Solutions Short Term Medical
Allstate Health Solutions offers Short Term Medical (STM) plans in 34 states (including D.C.). The length of the available coverage term varies by state. Below you will find the states where Allstate Health Solutions plans are available and the policy term duration’s for their plans in each state.
The Allstate Health Solutions STM plan provide an excellent base of protection. However, Short term medical (STM) plans do not cover all the services/treatments mandated under Obamacare (e.g. maternity, preventive care, outpatient mental health services and prescription drugs) and they do not cover any pre-existing conditions.
Therefore, to enhance your overall coverage, Allstate Health Solutions offers several supplemental benefits (see further down this page). You can also add any or all the following supplemental benefits available on our US Supplemental Coverage page to make your overall plan as comprehensive as you want:

Allstate Health Solutions Coverage
The Allstate Health Solutions Short-Term Medical (STM) plans cover 50%, 80% or 100% of covered expenses after the deductible, including doctor office visit fees, diagnostic testing, and hospitalization and surgery.
These plans utilize the Aetna OpenChoice PPO network. To find providers in this network in your area, please visit the Aetna Open Choice PPO Network. Choose location; set distance parameters – Select “Open Choice® PPO”
NEW! Allstate Health Solutions has added the Cigna Nationwide PPO network to give people the choice of Aetna or Cigna in the following states:
AL, AZ, AR, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KY, LA, MS, NE, NV, OH, OK, SC, UT, WV and WY

Allstate Health Solutions Plans Availability by State
Allstate Health Solutions Short Term Medical (STM) plan availability and duration of policy terms by state is as follows:
States with plans available for up to 364 days per policy:
AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, KS, KY, LA, ME, MS, NC, ND, NE, OH, OK, SC (11-month plans), SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WI, WV
States with up to two (2) back to back 364-day policies available:
AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, KY, LA, MS, NE, OH, SC (2 11-month plans), TN, TX, UT
States with up to three (3) back to back 364-day policies available:
AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, KY, LA, MS, NE, SC (3 11-month plans), TN, TX
States with four (4) back to back 6-month policies available:

Allstate Health Solutions Supplemental Benefits
Allstate Health Solutions offers a variety of different supplemental plan options that you can include with your STM plan. Plan availability varies by state. For all supplemental plans you can view plan details, see availability for your state, run quotes and apply for these plans at the link below. The available plans are as follows:
Health Access Fixed Benefit Plan:
The Access Fixed Benefit plan is National General’s new fixed benefit plan. Access plans are currently available in 25 states.
The 4 available plans are a great addition to the Allstate Health Solutions STM plans (above) in that they will provide direct, “first dollar” benefits to you for services you receive while you are meeting the annual deductible on the STM plan. That lowers your out of pocket costs for the deductible and any coinsurance.
Here are a few features of Allstate Health Solutions Access:*
- 3 levels of coverage — Value, Fundamentals, Enhanced — plus a Guaranteed Issue option.
- Select benefits increase in years 2 and 3 of the plan.
- Hospital admission and increasing daily confinement benefits.
- Access to First Health Network, with in-network discounts, helps members stretch their benefits further.

Hospital Expense Protection Plus Fixed Benefit Plan:
The Hospital Expense Protection Plus Fixed Benefit plan is a great addition to the Allstate STM plans (above) in that it will provide direct, “first dollar” benefits to you for services you receive while you are meeting the annual deductible on the STM plan. That lowers your out of pocket costs for the deductible and any coinsurance.
This plan pays set dollar amounts for specific health care services in addition to any other insurance you have. That means that even after you meet your STM plan deductible and that plan is covering future services, you can still submit those claims to Foundation for reimbursement.

Plan Enhancer:
Allstate Health Solutions Plan Enhancer offers Accident Medical Expense (AME) protection by itself or combined with Cancer and Heart Attack/Stroke (CHS) coverage and/or Sickness Hospitalization (SIP) coverage. You can choose just the AME or add one or both CHS or SIP options.
- Accident Medical Expense (AME) – AME pays the selected benefit amount per accident.
- Cancer and Heart Attack/Stroke (CHS) – CHS pays the selected amount upon diagnosis of cancer or after a heart attack or stroke.
- Sickness Hospitalization (SIP) – Pays the selected benefit amount for the first day you are admitted to the hospital each year.

TrioMED Accident & Critical Illness:
Allstate Health Solutions TrioMED plans provide BOTH accident and critical illness coverage in one plan. There are three guaranteed issue plan options available:
- Option 1 – $2,500 benefit each for accidents and critical illnesses
- Option 2 – $5,000 benefit each for accidents and critical illnesses
- Option 2 – $10,000 benefit each for accidents and critical illnesses
There are also two plans available on a standard issue basis. Each has a $5,000 accident benefit with your choice of $15,000 or $30,000 critical illness benefit.

Life Insurance:
Allstate Health Solutions offers two different plans. Term Life insurance only and Term Life-Critical Illness.
Term Life only provides an easy way to add $20,000 to $100,000 of term life insurance protection for your family.

Allstate Health Solutions Short Term Medical Quote and Apply Online
The easiest way to apply is through Allstate Health Solutions secure online application as follows:
Please follow these instructions to apply: On the first page enter your effective date, zip code, date of birth and gender for you. Click the boxes to add your spouse and/or kids and click “quote now.” On the next page choose the type of coverage that you want. Answer the questions for that plan. For all plans except the Short Term Medical plans click “add” next to the plan that you want. In the pop up box, click the box that you don’t want any riders and click “add.” Lastly click “apply.” Next you will create an application account by clicking “register here.” From here you will login to your account and complete your information, answer the application health questions, set up payment, and you are done.
For the Short Term Medical plans answer the questions. Then click “view standard rates,” or if you want to see preferred rates click “show me questions.” Answer the questions to see if you qualify for preferred. Then click “view preferred rates.” Next, select the term length of coverage, or you can choose the single payment option and select an end date for your coverage. Next, choose the plan you want and click “add.” A box will pop up with supplemental options you can add. To add one of the Plan Enhancer plans, choose the “Accident” tab in the pop-up window. Pick the benefit amount you and check the box to add CHS, Sickness & Hospital benefits or both. Then click “add to cart.” In the pop up box, click the box that you don’t want any riders and click “add.” Lastly click “apply.” Next you will create an application account by clicking “register here.” From here you will login to your account and complete your information, answer the application health questions, set up payment, and you are done.
