About Aetna Health Insurance
Aetna is committed to providing individuals, employers, health care professionals, producers and others with innovative benefits, products and services. Since their inception in 1853 Aetna has grown to become one of the largest health insurers in the U.S.
They believe strongly in diversity. Seventy five percent of their 50,000 employees are women, and women hold 64% of the company's management positions. That belief extends to their supplier network as they are looking to increase business relationships with certified minority, women, LGBT and small-business suppliers. Aetna also believes that healthy communities lead to a healthier world. In 2013 they were named to The Civic 50, a list of the 50 most community-minded companies in the nation. Since 2003, their employees have volunteered more than 2.6 million hours of their time to support local and national initiatives.

Provider Networks
As a result of healthcare reform insurance companies have had to make adjustments to their Provider Networks on many of their health plans. Therefore it is more important than ever to make sure that the doctors and hospitals that are most important to you are in the network of the health plan you are considering.
To find out which network is available for the plans in your area, and view the providers, please visit Aetna DocFind.
In addition, you can check to see if the Aetna health plan you want covers the prescription drug(s) that you take by visiting the Aetna Pharmacy Benefits page.
